New Team Member Joins Loyalhanna Dockyard
Supporting the purchase of the former Hartman Fiberglass, Richard Long has became a member of the Loyalhanna Dockyard Family and is directly involved as the Team Leader for New Product development, Instruction Manuals and New Masters for Hartman Model Boats, a division of Loyalhanna Dockyard. FROM RICH: I never had the opportunity to meet Dwight Hartman, from what I read in hobby magazines he was a true trusting gentleman and truly a “hobby nut”. That is not meant to be a negative statement – This man had a passion to model things that flew, went in the water and ran on rails. For over 40 years he modeled trains, for over 35 years he modeled boats and I don’t know how long he modeled flying aircraft. In my book, that is a huge benefit to Dwight Hartman. Another great benefit to Dwight Hartman is that he limited himself to North American Water Craft. Dwight Hartman was a true Hall of Fame type of guy for the Modeling Hobby. So why did I become involved in the purchase of Hartman Fiberglass? Simple, this is me – the same modeling interest particularly in R/C Model Water Craft. I wanted Hartman, the molds and the display models and wanted to ensure the business was not going to a foreign model manufacture. However, without the help of Don and Renee at Loyalhanna Dockyard, the purchase of Hartman Fiberglass would not have taken place. I now became a member of the Loyalhanna Dockyard Family and look forward to working with these friends that I share many common hobby interests with. So where will Hartman Model Boats be heading: Mission Statement: Supplying the Customer with Satisfying Fiberglass Hulls and Resin Based Kits that ensure the product’s “Fun to Build” factor continually improves! Hartman Model Boats: Will now have a New Updated Color Catalog in an attempt to provide the entire Hartman Line with in the next coming months. As an integral part of this, all Hulls will be serial numbered & bar coded for quality assurance and customer satisfaction.
All New Product development: for the Hartman Model Boats Group will be of a North American Prototype.
Better Instruction manuals together with assembly pictures: One of the first projects planned is a “Your First Fiberglass Model Boat” using the “Lil’ Toot” as a basis to go through the process of building the model in words and pictures (as well as some secrets that long time fiberglass modelers know). This will be a primer that will be the basis for Building Fiberglass Models and be on the webpage for download.
One Stop Shopping: The Loyalhanna Dockyard Family of Products can provide you everything you need to build your model as well as provide you with a combined knowledge base of over 90 years experience in R/C Model Boating.
