ATF FLEET TUG

U.S. NAVY 205’ FLEET TUG – WW II - 51 ¾ ” X 9 ½ “ - 1/48 – SCALE

Navajo Class Fleet Ocean Tug boat : Generally, named after American Indian tribes, these tugs were used for sea salvage operations. Additionally, these tugs were capable of a reasonable defense and were able to put Hard Hat divers in the water. Many of the tugs lasted long after the war in other navies and in the case of the UTE (ATF-76) in the 1980’s as Coast Guard tugs.

The Hartman Model Boats’ ATF is in 1/48 scale and would be an impressive addition to any builder’s US naval fleet operation. Also, these tugs were sold to many countries and private salvage operations and continued their life well into the 1980’s.
